Training
Mitch trained at Macquarie University where he completed a Bachelor of Psychology with First Class Honours and subsequently a Master of Clinical Psychology. He has undertaken training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).

Mitch is registered to practice as a Clinical Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia , is registered as a Medicare provider and holds certification as a board-approved clinical supervisor. He is also a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA).

Clinical Experience
Mitch has worked in a variety of public health and private practice settings to date. He completed his training at the Macquarie University Psychology Clinic, as well as the Centre for Emotional Health Clinic (anxiety specialist clinic) and with the Community Mental health team at Blacktown Hospital.

He has further worked as the clinical lead for the Liverpool Hospital Gambling Help Service, and has also worked in treating trauma, chronic pain and a range of hospital presenting psychological concerns while working for the Therapy and Recovery Service at Liverpool Hospital and the Pain Management Service at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. He has worked with individuals with a range of concerns, including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, substance use concerns, as well as complex trauma, personality disorders and chronic pain.

Therapeutic Practice
Mitch’s takes an evidence-based approach to therapy and draws from Schema Therapy, DBT, ACT, CBT and CPT therapy modalities. Mitch believes in making the therapy environment a warm and comfortable space and is focused on seeing the individual in every client. He is passionate about therapy as a process in self-understanding and believes in taking an individual case formulation approach to assist each client understand who they are, how they came to be and thus figuring out the most effective and evidence-based ways to move forward towards their chosen goals.
